We had the same problem with my friend, game crashed all the time and we werent able to play with each other, we thought it was mods that we installed conflicting with each other, after trying to solve this and find what mod was problematic we just gave up and just stopped playing for couple of weeks, and now its all good, no mods causing problems no crashes and all we get is. Installing smapi might help if stardew valley crashes on load.
